Third Project
~reasoning~
Through the eyes of Ralph
~ This project was based and honored to my cousin Ralph J. Fabbri. He joined the military, leaving for his first deployment in 2010. His deployment was 6 months long. Coming close to the final mission of his deployment he called giving us his homecoming countdown of one month. One week before he was supposed to come home he was K.I.A.

History
Contacting was a long and key part to my project. I chose to do a photo essay based of of information that I got from fellow troops in Ralphs brigade. Some information that I used was the type of camera they use, the danger level of the job, photos that were sent to me, and descriptions of ralph and his work ethic. To include reasoning, I described how the combat photos portrayed him and how the photos also tied back into the interviews by using the information they gave me. While the troops were contacting me, it took quite some time due to the fact of it being a sore topic. Ralph and those troops were like brothers and could rely on eachother for everything. Below is my photo essay.

English
For English I wrote an essay on whether or not combat photography is more dangerous compared to the other jobs in the military. I used research from my interview with the troops, and websites about the military. I felt like this was a good fit for my project because some people think that combat photographers dont have an important or difficult job. Some topics I included in the essay were equipment amount, vulneriblity, and positioning. To include reasoning into this essay I included my reasons about why I thought that combat photography was more dangerous and then suported my claim with research from the troops. Art
For art I curated pictures that were given to me by the other combat photographers in his brigade. These pictures ranged from landscape photos, to portrait photos. I chose the ones that were clear and showed the true meaning of Afgahnistan and the military. I made sure to pick different photos that used different angles so that I could incorporate reasoning into my art portion. In the presentation that I created included a picture, a description of the picture, and why it is important and frequently used. below is the file to my slide show.
