Second Project
~perspective~
Women in Sports
English
For my English portion of this project I created an informational video. In this video I took the perspective and role of a little girl who wants to play sports and continue to get better. The challenge in this video is that the little girl is told she can't. She is told she runs like a girl or throws like a girl, but what is she supposed to do she is a girl. I put this in the perspective of the little girl because they are the ones growing up into this world with the stereotype that women are inferior. If they continue to think this they will end up not playing sports or taking risks. In this video I used different figures in women's sports history to prove that women are capable of doing big things. This link will take you to the video.

History
To include perspective into my history portion of the project I created almost a diary entry by a women each time there was a significant event in womens sport history made. I chose to take my history in a diary format because it was like a timeline. I created a timeline at first and had to find a way to incorperate perspective, so to do so i changed it into diary entries by a women who witnessed each event happen. I also incorperated the male perspective in some of the entries to show how males looked at women in sports at the time.

Art
Art was a little more challenging to work with women in sports. But I found a link from women in sports to women in the art world, women being seen as inferior. Most artwork on display is white male artwork. So for art i found influential women of groups of women in the art world. I curated some of their most powerful works of art and described why it was so important. I created this into a slide show with 6 different artists. The artists perspective towards their work of was what made the pieces stick out to me. Most of the work that I chose made the viewer feel bad. For example with the piece that I chose made by The Guerrilla Girls was a letter written towards a male art collecter. The artist wanted to make that person feel bad for not choosing more pieces made by women.
